Carl Froch ego will not let fight happen, says Cleverley

Nathan Cleverley, the holder of the World Boxing Organization or the WBO Light Heavyweight Championship believes that the big ego of English boxer Carl Froch is what will prevent them from ever facing each other inside the ring.

The Welshman has long seen talks linking him up with a potential match up against the current International Boxing Federation or the IBF Super Middleweight Championship holder Froch but he insists that there have never been talks between the fighters themselves and whatever has been printed in the media are make believe stories.

But he is certain about one thing – the fight will never go ahead because The Cobra doesn’t want it to go ahead. Cleverley is in line to defend his title against Robert Krasniqi and according to him, if Carl Froch, who defends his title against Danish fighter Mikkel Kessler in a few days’ time, comes out on top, it will be a huge success for British boxing as a whole.

He also believes that the fight between the two of them will also be huge for the British public but asserted that the huge ego of Froch will not make the fight possible. He stated that any fighter who can box and move his body freely stands a good enough chance of beating the Englishman quite easily. And he asserted that it is one of the main reasons Carl Froch will try and avoid any possible showdown between the two of them.

Froch will look to defend his title against Kessler and avenge the loss that he suffered at the hands of the Dane a few years back on his own home turf and now that the rematch is scheduled to take place at the O2 Arena in London, Froch can count on home support to spur him on to the win.
